education at a "higher" level

November 12th, 2004 (05:33 pm)
excited

current mood: excited

So, just to tabulate, how many of you have a degree, are working on a degree, or have one and are planning on obtaining another?
Just a show of hands, please...

Thanks.

hrm.

I'm going to apply for the MHA program at the UW once I get my BA spring 2006.
oh boy.

I can do it though, I have like, all the professionals w/in PFS at UWMC routing for me to continue my education so I can go and play big ball with them.

....cause I rawk.
that's why.

no really, I'm being pushed by upper management to apply for supervisor positions... which I'm gonna do right now... so I am thinking that is a good thing, right?

Oh, & by the by, I found out the other day shoooooosh, don't tell, but my mums' boss makes about $18,000.00 a MONTH!

OH HELL YA!!! I'm SO gonna get in on that kinda cash!!!
You can count.me.in.

booYA!

but really, I'm excited about finishing school and going for this program. It's going to offer me things [and money] that I otherwise wouldn't be privy to.

The End.

Hmm? Im currently studying 18 subjects or so.
Those subjects consist of both Arabic and academic subjects.
I think our schooling system is more to Crambridge's. (:

I went to school for 3.5 years for a degree in Comp Sci

Posted at: November 12th, 2004 07:18 pm (UTC)
ewww... that stinks

it only took you 3.5 years to finish?

I'm jealous.

this four year degree is going to take me 8 years to complete.
oi.

no..I quit before I graduated, I had ummm... a
breakdown or something ..LOL

Posted at: November 12th, 2004 07:34 pm (UTC)
nap?

how long ago did you quit?

you know what I found out? If you wait 10 years [I think that's the numerical value] between when you left studies & going back, then you lose all your credits earned.
that's what got my butt back into school.

I really don't care about it anymore, I'm already in debt 14,000 in student loans and I can't possibly see what goin back to school would change for me except for adding to that debt...

good luck!

mi sew smrt!

debt's a pain, that's why it's going to take me 8 years to finish my four year degree. The Parents cut me off after the first four years [I didn't know about that clause when I signed up for the program...] so I've been having to pay for it meself.
I don't want to get any loans, and I didn't want to apply for financial aid, so I'm breaking myself with each paycheck to save money for one quarters worth of tuition for one course. the good thing about that, is I can claim it on my taxes :o) makes for a lovely refund ....

when I get into the grad program, it will cost me somewhere around $3000/quarter, compared to the $1000/quarter I'm currently paying.
but that's going to be in about two to three years time. so that's plenty of time to start saving.... right??? RIGHT???? ::starts to panic::

you only get a % of it back on your refund, not all of it

ya...but you gotta figure that 1,000 plus books =\

Posted at: November 13th, 2004 12:09 pm (UTC)

ya, I know it's only a portion, but at least it's something...
last year Andrew's tuition was astronomical! and we ended up getting about 20% back... which was LOVELY! :o)

it's kind of sad that lifes' survival is now hinged on money...

reflection

those extra couple of years for an additional degree will definetly get you your money back in the long run! [that is, as long as you get a job in the related field!]

besides, when one's young, what else does one have to do?

The possibility of $18,000/month is what's going to make me continue on after I get my BA....

I am trying to. :( But, school is on and off, depending on how many jobs I am working at the time or how much financial aid I get. o_O

But.. if you make that kind of money per month... will you be my sugar momma? :-D

Posted by: dissolves instantly (sahrie)
Posted at: November 13th, 2004 12:05 pm (UTC)

I can't do anymore than my one job. it's job enough for me!

hmmm... if I was able to make that kind of money in 5-10 years, I would more than likely offer sponsorships to people who want to continue their education. what's a couple of grand when you're making 18 grand a month? sheeeet
