Ooh! I adore mushroom-house art! When I was a little kid I had a puzzle that my parents gave me. It was a gnome house, made out of a mushroom. When you took the pieces away from the outside, you could see what was inside the rooms underneath. :)

Re:

I wish I did, but no. It was REALLY cool! It was a wooden puzzle too, and there were little knobbs on the pieces (which were quite big). So that once you had put the puzzle together properly, you could lift out the little sections (showing the OUTSIDE of the house) and see what was going on inside. So there was a kitchen with people baking bread, and a workshop where Gnomes were making things, and a bedroom upstairs. etc. It's one of my fondest childhood memories, playing with that puzzle. :)

story time:
so i went to snoqualmie falls, wa, with a few of my friends. well we decided to eat some mushrooms. it was my first time eating a substantial dose and we were hiking around at the bottom of the falls, it was a cool spring day and the forest was SO green... well i started to see little gnomes in the trees... and when i say this i mean they were part of the vegitation surrounding me... i even heard little noises in my head that sounded like whispering. it was SUCH an amazing trip... i haven't experienced anything on that level since.

to be out in nature is the best place to do mushrooms.

so anyway it's at that point in time when realized that gnomes are a product of mushrooms, and for them to be in scandanavian folklore indicates that the consumption of mushrooms was part of the culture

amazing

Re:

Hahahaah! Okay, so THAT'S where the connection between Gnomes and mushrooms came from. ;)
